Pickles the Guide Dog at the Paralympics 2026

That the Parliament recognises and celebrates Pickles, a dedicated guide dog that proudly accompanied her handler to the 2026 Paralympic Games; commends the extraordinary partnership between guide dogs and the individuals they support, enabling greater independence, confidence and participation in all areas of life, including sport; acknowledges the vital work carried out by Guide Dogs UK across Scotland and the UK in training highly skilled assistance dogs, alongside the commitment of trainers and volunteers; notes the inspiration that Pickles’ presence at the Paralympics has provided to many people, particularly those living with visual impairments, and congratulates Pickles and her handler for demonstrating the powerful role that assistance dogs play in promoting inclusion, accessibility and achievement on the international stage.
