That the Parliament welcomes the award of a £19,789 grant to Glasgow’s Drumchapel St Andrew’s and Yoker Parish Church to support a new community choir wellbeing initiative in Drumchapel and Yoker; understands that this funding will enable the church to run weekly inclusive community choir sessions open to people of all ages and backgrounds, with a focus on promoting wellbeing, reducing social isolation and loneliness, strengthening community connections and creating opportunities for people to take part in a cultural and social activity; recognises the important role that grassroots, volunteer-led community activities play in enhancing social cohesion and mental health, particularly in areas facing socio-economic challenges, and commends all those involved in developing and delivering this project for their commitment to improving quality of life within their local communities.
