That the Parliament congratulates Longniddry resident, David Goodman, on winning the McDermid Debut Award for his debut novel, A Reluctant Spy, at the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival; recognises that this award is named after Val McDermid, one of Scotland’s most celebrated crime novelists; notes that the award was judged by Val McDermid and Simon Theakston, chairman of the event’s sponsor T&R Theakston Ltd, and looks forward to David’s further writing endeavours after the success of his debut novel.
