That the Parliament expresses its concern at the potential risk to people, homes, and community safety, in light of repeated reports of funding cuts to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) by the Scottish Government; notes reported concerns raised by the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) regarding the potential impact of cuts on response times and safety of communities, including reduced resilience and an increased risk to life; understands that options being considered by the ongoing SFRS Service Delivery Review include the removal of appliances from Balmossie Fire Station to Kingsway East, or fully closing Balmossie Fire Station; pays tribute to the work of local FBU organisers and residents in standing up for community safety and leading the campaign to keep Balmossie Fire Station open; believes that Broughty Ferry and Monifieth require dedicated, local emergency cover, and calls on the Scottish Government to reverse what it considers are austerity cuts to emergency services and instead prioritise safety for families and communities in Broughty Ferry, Monifieth, and the wider region.
