Celebrating Pinar Aksu鈥檚 Decade at the Maryhill Integration Network

That the Parliament congratulates Pinar Aksu on her 10 years of service at the Maryhill Integration Network; understands that Ms Aksu has been a tireless worker for the rights of those seeking asylum, refugees and migrants in Glasgow; further understands that, over the last 10 years, she has been frequently recognised for her work, including through the Local Hero Award in Glasgow in 2020, the Amnesty International Brave Award Scotland 2020, and the Young Women’s Movement 30 Under 30; acknowledges her tireless work campaigning to extend concessionary bus travel to people seeking asylum in Scotland, collaborating alongside trade unions and third sector organisations; thanks her for her commitment to the Cross-Party Group on Migration, where she ensured that the voices of people seeking asylum were heard in the Scottish Parliament; celebrates her commitment to social justice and inclusion, and wishes her all the best in her new career as a research associate at the University of Glasgow, where she is continuing her research on how art practices are and can be used for creating social change in migration.
