Celebrating 160 Years of New College Lanarkshire鈥檚 Coatbridge Campus

That the Parliament congratulates the Coatbridge campus of New College Lanarkshire on reaching its remarkable 160th anniversary; notes that the institution, originally established in 1865, has a proud and distinguishing history of providing essential education and vocational training to generations of students from Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, and beyond; understands that the campus is the oldest college in Scotland; recognises its enduring legacy as a cornerstone of community learning and development, adapting over the decades to meet evolving local and national skills needs; believes that the campus has made a significant contribution, both in its former guise as Coatbridge College and now as a vital part of New College Lanarkshire, to the economic prosperity and social wellbeing of the region by equipping individuals with the knowledge and expertise required to thrive in a dynamic job market; commends the dedication and commitment of all staff, past and present, who have shaped the lives of countless learners, fostering talent and ambition; understands that the Coatbridge campus continues to play a crucial role in delivering high-quality education, from foundational skills to higher qualifications, across a diverse range of disciplines, and looks forward to the ongoing success and positive impact of the Coatbridge campus for many years to come.
