That the Parliament congratulates pupils at St Ninian's High School in Giffnock on completing a national swimming qualification; recognises that 12 pupils from the S5 and S6 year groups at the Giffnock secondary school have been awarded the Swimming Teaching qualification at SCQF Level 7; understands that the pupils will now take up roles as swimming teachers and that the young people have also gained paid employment with East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure; acknowledges that as part of their roles, the St Ninian's pupils will support children who are beginning their swimming lessons as part of Scottish Water and Scottish Swimming's Learn to Swim initiative; further acknowledges that working with experienced instructors, the St Ninian's pupils will provide lessons to teach children how to swim and develop water safety skills; believes that swimming is a very important life skill, and commends the St Ninian's High School pupils on achieving the Swimming Teaching qualification.
