To ask the Scottish Executive how many heroin addicts there are (a) known and (b) estimated to have been in each year since 1970.
Answer
(a) The number ofknown heroin addicts since 1970 is not held centrally.
(b) Estimates of theprevalence of problematic opiate and/or benzodiazepine misuse in Scotland were carried out for 2000 and 2003. Table 1 shows theestimated numbers across Scotland and the 95% confidence interval.

To ask the Scottish Executive how many workers are covered by the orders made by the Scottish Agricultural Wages Board.
Answer
The number of workers employed in agriculture covered by the Orders made by the Scottish Agricultural Wages Board is 24,924. This is made up of 13,500 full-time and 11,424 part-time and seasonal workers. (Economic Report On Scottish Agriculture-2007 Edition)
Information on the numbers of workers employed in horticulture and forestry who are covered by these Wages Orders is not held centrally.

The number of workers covered by the orders made by the Scottish Agricultural Wages Board is 67,011. This is made up of 26,097 full-time and 40,914 part-time and seasonal workers (June 2006 census).

To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S3W-2221 by Stewart Maxwell on 30 July 2007, what the average cost is of constructing a home for private sale.
Answer
The information requestedis not held centrally. Costs will vary to some degree between locations and accordingto the economies of scale which can be achieved. Different factors will affect buildcosts in urban and rural areas, as will the nature and condition of developmentsites. Consideration also needs to be given to the cost of land in any development.
