To ask the Scottish Government how much has been generated from music tourists in Glasgow in the last year.

The Scottish Government does not hold this information.

UK Music conducts an annual survey of the contribution of live music to the UK economy, including Scotland, in its “Wish you were here” survey. Surveys have been carried out from 2013-2017. Surveys to 2016 include specific information on live music in Glasgow. Surveys are available through its website at .

The research report “Growing the Value for Music Tourism in Glasgow suggests that for 2015 the total value contributed by live music attendance in Glasgow is £159.7 million. The report, conducted and written by Dougal Perman, Tim Wright and Fay Young, with contributions and support from the collaborative research team and Glasgow’s music industry, is available at .

Information from VisitScotland for events which it has sponsored in Glasgow in the financial year 2017-18 shows there was a net economic return from outside Scotland of £6.1 million generated by music tourists in Glasgow. A music tourist is a person who has taken part in a music element to their trip, such as a music gig, concert or festival. That activity could be part of a longer holiday or could be the sole purpose of the trip.

To ask the Scottish Government how the Scottish Government is celebrating 150 years of the TUC.

I attended the TUC’s 150 th Anniversary reception at Westminster on 6 June 2018 to celebrate their longstanding commitment to protecting the rights of workers and improving workplace relations.

The Scottish Government's support for the trade union movement in Scotland is demonstrated through funding to the STUC of £2.2 million for Scottish Union Learning and £350,000 for the Trade Union Fair Work and Modernisation Fund and the Leadership and Equality Programme.

We will do all that we can to oppose UK Government policy, such as the Trade Union Act, that continues to threaten the role of trade unions.

To ask the Scottish Government what progress it is making in implementing the Independent Review of Student Financial Support in Scotland's recommendation that care-experienced students under 26 should receive a minimum student income of £8,100.

Building on the Scottish Government’s existing commitment to support care-experienced young people to access Further and Higher Education, the care-experienced bursary will be increased to £8,100 in 2018-19 with additional funding of more than £5 million provided to support that.

This brings care-experience bursary support in line with the Scottish Living Wage as recommended by the independent Review of Student Support.

To ask the Scottish Government what changes to parliamentary liaison officers have been made; to which ministers, and what their responsibilities are.

The First Minister has made changes to the appointed parliamentary liaison officers (PLOs), the revised list is set out in the following table. The role of PLOs is to assist in developing and maintaining a positive and constructive relationship between the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Government and to take account of the views of the Parliament and of Scotland as a whole. PLOs are unpaid, are not members of the government and are not, therefore, bound by collective responsibility.

To ask the Scottish Government what information it has regarding the compliance of (a) farmers, (b) gamekeepers, (c) pest controllers and (d) local authority staff with the (i) Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use Code of Best Practice and (ii) rules governing the purchase and safe use of rodenticides to prevent the secondary poisoning of non-target species.

The Scottish Government undertakes a number of surveys of agricultural and local authority use of rodenticides. Agricultural use, by farmers and pest controllers, is surveyed on farms growing arable crops every two years (last published in 2016) and on farms growing grass and fodder crops every four years (last published in 2013). Local authority use of rodenticides is surveyed every four years (last published in 2015). These are published as National Statistics and can be found at: .

To ask the Scottish Government what information it has regarding the levels of rodenticides in (a) red kites, (b) kestrels, (c) barn owls and (d) other non-target species in each of the last five years.

Residues of anticoagulant rodenticides are monitored in suspected poisoning victims and non-target species as part of the Wildlife Incident Investigation Scheme (WIIS), operated on behalf of the Scottish Government, by the Chemistry Branch of Science and Advice for Scottish Agriculture (SASA).

The results of WIIS investigations are published quarterly and are available on SASA’s website; .
