To ask the Scottish Executive whether it will provide a breakdown of the costs which the #13 million allocated to Glasgow City Council for the development of its proposals for a Glasgow Housing Association is expected to cover, with specific reference to the estimated cost of the ballot and the amount budgeted for public relations and publicity materials.
Answer
Of the 拢13 million earmarked for Glasgow City Council in connection with the development of its stock transfer proposal, 拢2.856 million has been allocated. This includes 拢0.495 million for project team and consultancy costs; 拢1.010 million for work with tenants and residents; 拢0.750 million for stock condition work and 拢0.601 million for purchasers pre-transfer costs which will be recoverable.Following the publication of the Framework Document the council has submitted a bid to the Executive for resources between 2000-02. This is currently being considered by the New Housing Partnerships Steering Group.

Final budget provision for housing for 1999-2000 is 拢523.9 million and budget provision for 2000-01 is 拢579.0 million.

To ask the Scottish Executive, further to the answer to question S1W-4840 by Henry McLeish on 8 March 2000, what progress is being made in addressing the recently announced job losses at Grampian Foods.
Answer
The Executive and its agencies have remained in close contact with the company since this announcement. Local agencies are currently working on plans to help those affected but these can only be put into effect once negotiations between the company and unions on the redundancies have been completed.

To ask the Scottish Executive what action it has taken or is intending to take in the light of the announcement of job losses at DAKS Simpson.
Answer
I met local 成人快手 on 30 March to discuss action following the company's announcement. The Executive and its agencies will maintain the close contact it has had with the company since Marks and Spencer's decision to terminate its contracts with the company last October. Officials visited the company on 28 March to discuss support and also I intend to visit in the next few weeks. Action from the Executive will focus on helping those made redundant find new jobs and, as required by the company, providing training programmes for those who will remain. We shall ensure that such support is being provided in accordance with the principles set out in our PACE (Partnership Action for Continuing Employment) document last month.
