The Official Report is a written record of public meetings of the Parliament and committees.
The Official Report search offers lots of different ways to find the information you’re looking for. The search is used as a professional tool by researchers and third-party organisations. It is also used by members of the public who may have less parliamentary awareness. This means it needs to provide the ability to run complex searches, and the ability to browse reports or perform a simple keyword search.
The web version of the Official Report has three different views:
Depending on the kind of search you want to do, one of these views will be the best option. The default view is to show the report for each meeting of Parliament or a committee. For a simple keyword search, the results will be shown by item of business.
When you choose to search by a particular MSP, the results returned will show each spoken contribution in Parliament or a committee, ordered by date with the most recent contributions first. This will usually return a lot of results, but you can refine your search by keyword, date and/or by meeting (committee or Chamber business).
We’ve chosen to display the entirety of each MSP’s contribution in the search results. This is intended to reduce the number of times that users need to click into an actual report to get the information that they’re looking for, but in some cases it can lead to very short contributions (“Yes.”) or very long ones (Ministerial statements, for example.) We’ll keep this under review and get feedback from users on whether this approach best meets their needs.
There are two types of keyword search:
If you select an MSP’s name from the dropdown menu, and add a phrase in quotation marks to the keyword field, then the search will return only examples of when the MSP said those exact words. You can further refine this search by adding a date range or selecting a particular committee or Meeting of the Parliament.
It’s also possible to run basic Boolean searches. For example:
There are two ways of searching by date.
You can either use the Start date and End date options to run a search across a particular date range. For example, you may know that a particular subject was discussed at some point in the last few weeks and choose a date range to reflect that.
Alternatively, you can use one of the pre-defined date ranges under “Select a time period”. These are:
If you search by an individual session, the list of 成人快手 and committees will automatically update to show only the 成人快手 and committees which were current during that session. For example, if you select Session 1 you will be show a list of 成人快手 and committees from Session 1.
If you add a custom date range which crosses more than one session of Parliament, the lists of 成人快手 and committees will update to show the information that was current at that time.

That is excellent.
Our first item is a decision on taking in private agenda item 5, which is consideration of the committee鈥檚 work programme. Do members agree to take that item in private?
Members indicated agreement.

Our second item is consideration of an application for the recognition of a proposed cross-party group on Ukraine. I welcome Colin Beattie MSP, Miles Briggs MSP and Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP, who are the potential convener and deputy conveners.
I turn to Colin Beattie first, for an explanation of the need and the reason for the proposed cross-party group.

As members have no questions, I will inquire about something. There is clearly strong cross-party support in the documents that you filed. Along with five organisations, almost unusually, 23 non-MSP individuals have expressed an interest in being associated with the group. Can you explain the range of the individuals who are interested in the group? Obviously, cross-party groups are for people outside the Parliament to meet and talk with 成人快手, so that 成人快手 can better understand the situation. Perhaps Colin Beattie could answer that question.

Before closing our public session, I put on record my appreciation of the sterling work of our senior clerk, Dr Katy Orr, who, for more than five years, has brought a quiet wisdom, expertise and, I think, patience to all areas of the committee鈥檚 work. On a personal note, I place on record my special thanks to Dr Orr for her patience with me, as convener, in what has been a very steep learning curve during this session. Dr Orr will be missed, but we wish her very well鈥攁nd the best for what is coming along.

Good morning, and welcome to the 16th meeting in 2023 of the Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments Committee. Today, unfortunately, the committee is without Evelyn Tweed, who is feeling unwell. I therefore welcome Alasdair Allan as her substitute, and I invite him to declare any registered interests of his that might affect the decisions of the committee.

All three 成人快手 made very powerful contributions. Colin Beattie鈥檚 explanation that the 23 individuals represent far more of the Ukrainian diaspora was powerfully made.
I put it to the committee that we formally recognise the proposed cross-party group.
Members indicated agreement.

Under item 2, I welcome Karen Adam, who is a potential convener of the proposed cross-party group on fisheries and coastal communities. Karen, will you explain to the committee the purposes of and intent behind the proposed CPG?

Under agenda item 3 we will, as anticipated, decide whether to grant recognition to the proposed cross-party group on fisheries and coastal communities. Do members have any comments?

That is helpful.
The committee has been concerned, as Stephen Kerr said, about the number of CPGs that exist and the workload that they put on 成人快手, given their obligations. We will return to that issue and look at the state of the CPGs when we consider our annual report on them. However, Karen Adam clearly indicated an understanding of the obligations that she would be taking on, which I found helpful.
Is the committee prepared to officially recognise the proposed cross-party group that Karen Adam presented today?
Members indicated agreement.
