1. Declaration of interests:

Brian Whittle MSP was invited to declare any relevant interests and confirmed he had none.


2. Decision on taking business in private:

The Committee agreed to take items 4 and 5 in private.


3. Housing to 2040:

The Committee took evidence from—

Michael Cameron, Chief Executive , Scottish Housing Regulator;

John Blackwood, Chief Executive , Scottish Association of Landlords;

Callum Chomczuk, National Director, Chartered Institute of Housing Scotland;

Maureen Chalmers, Community Wellbeing Spokesperson, COSLA;

Sally Thomas, Chief Executive, Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA);

John Mills, Co-Chair, Association of Local Authority Chief Housing Officers (ALACHO);

Jane Wood, Chief Executive, Homes for Scotland.

 

Stephanie Callaghan MSP declared an interest as having served as a Councillor on South Lanarkshire Council.

Marie McNair MSP also declared an interest as having served as a Councillor on West Dunbartonshire Council.

Mark Griffin MSP declared an interest in having previously owned a private rented property.

 


4. Housing to 2040 (in private):

The Committee agreed to defer consideration of the evidence heard earlier in the meeting to a future meeting.


5. Local Authority (Capital Finance and Accounting) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2024 (in private):

The Committee agreed to invite written evidence on the regulations.


6. Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Bill (in private):

The Committee considered a draft Stage 1 report.
