1. Subordinate legislation:

The Committee considered the following negative instrument—

The Committee made no recommendations in relation to the instrument.


2. Subordinate legislation:

The Committee took evidence on the Home Detention Curfew (Amendment of Specified Time Periods) (Scotland) Order 2025 [draft] from—

Angela Constance, Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs, Scottish Government.


3. Subordinate legislation:

Angela Constance (Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs) moved—

S6M-17635—That the Criminal Justice Committee recommends that the Home Detention Curfew (Amendment of Specified Time Periods) (Scotland) Order 2025 [draft] be approved.

The motion was agreed to (by division: For 6; Against 2; Abstentions 0).


4. Criminal Justice Modernisation and Abusive Domestic Behaviour Reviews (Scotland) Bill:

The Committee considered the Bill at Stage 2.

The following amendments were agreed to (without division): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 and 32.

The following amendments were disagreed to (by division)—
         46 (For 4, Against 4, Abstentions 0; amendment disagreed to on casting vote)
         93 (For 4, Against 4, Abstentions 0; amendment disagreed to on casting vote)
         49 (For 4, Against 4, Abstentions 0; amendment disagreed to on casting vote)
         50 (For 4, Against 4, Abstentions 0; amendment disagreed to on casting vote)

The following amendments were moved and, no member having objected, withdrawn: 56, 33, 34, 44, 59, 54, 55, 60 and 77.

The following amendments were pre-empted: 52 and 91.

The following provisions were agreed to as amended: sections 4, 7, 9, 10, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 25 and 26.

The Committee completed Stage 2 consideration of the Bill.
